card playing

We have been all about some serious card playing around the Leigh house of late. I guess since we don't have to get up early, we feel the freedom to begin these games around 11 o'clock or so and they just go on and on and on.

We like to play Shanghai and Uno. We'll also jump into a game called Apples to Apples that brings out the big laughs.

It's funny how summertime has a way of just bringing a family together. I am so grateful that I don't work during the summer and that Steve has the luxury of setting his own schedule --although he's not quite the night owl that the rest of us are--and we get this incredible time with the kids. It's like a gift, really. One that I want to cherish, especially this year, since things will change come Fall. With Luke starting high school--gasp!!--and Stevie going back to Charleston, there just won't be time for playing. You know how it is.

Hug a little tighter, smile a little wider, and laugh a little longer----summer will be gone before you know it!
