visits

I had the opportunity to go to Augusta yesterday to have lunch with my friend, Julie. You might remember her, she's the one with all of the MAN drama..........yep, that's what I said.....MAN drama! She makes me laugh and cringe (which is hard to do), and I love her. It was so nice to catch up because I haven't seen her since we went to the Biltmore in December. She's a busy woman these days, and it was nice that she made time for me.

As an additional suprise, I got to visit with some of my OLD (meaning I've known them a looooooooooooooooooong time, not that they are up in age) friends, Dean and Laraine. They are the type of friend who you may not talk to or see for months/years, and when you get together, the conversation is as though you talked just the other day. I just happened to catch them in town and not too terribly busy, so I was certainly the blessed one. (and very happy!)

Lastly, but not leastly, I saw Shea. She was in town meeting with her biological father and his wife for the first time.....EVER. She doesn't really have a relationship with him, but hopefully she is about to turn that around because while she doesn't need another parent, he is her blood. She needs to know for herself, what makes him tick and figure out just where she can fit into his life now that she is a grown-up and has the freedom to set up boundaries that make her feel safe. I hadn't seen her for a couple of months, and she looks amazing :)

So, all-in-all, a WONDERFUL trip/visit. I hope to do it again soon.

grab my button

I've been asked how to grab a button so here's the directions:

Copy the HTML code underneath my button.
Go to your blogger dashboard and choose layout for your blog
Choose "add a gadget"
When that window pops open, choose "add HTML code"
A new window will appear
You do not have to add a title unless you want to
Paste the code that you grabbed from my blog into the big box and press save
Viola! My button will appear on your page and you (and hopefully others) will be able to link directly to my blog.

If you post mine, I'll post yours.
If you don't have one, but want one, just click on Jen's button on the right hand side of the page and for $10, she'll hook you up.
Tell her I sent ya!

hello again

Ahhh, it's good to be back. I've missed blogging every day. I can't wait to share all of the thoughts that I've had while on a semi-hiatus. There's a lot of it (hopefully some of it good!) But, tomorrow I am off to see my friend Julie for a little while. I can't wait, she makes me laugh. I am also having dinner with Shea who will be in town. Good times!

welcome

Welcome to PATTYVILLE!

Here, I hope you find something each day to make you laugh, cry, pray, reflect, or simply scratch your head when you simply have NO earthly idea what I am talking about.

This blog has been born out of my other one which is still open, but only for family and close friends.

And NOW, to answer a few frequently asked questions about blogging:

WHY BLOG?
For me, blogging is a way to let out my emotions. It gives me a way to express what I feel and think in the WAY that I feel and think them.

WHERE DO YOUR TOPICS COME FROM?
My blog topics come from anywhere. I like to find the humor in most situations (although not everyone appreciates said humor!), and I like to share those thoughts with whomever happens to encounter them.

DO YOU TALK ABOUT PEOPLE ON YOUR BLOG?
Why yes, I do! I talk about my family, my friends, my husband, my kids, and mostly myself! All of the experiences related on this blog, are about ME and how situations seem to ME.

BOY, YOU ARE FULL OF YOURSELF, AREN'T YOU?
Actually, no. I don't like to be in the spotlight. I like to do the things I do in the background and let others take the credit. Another great reason for me to express myself through my blog. I would probably explode without some type of outlet (and that could be EXTREMELY messy!!).

I think that's all of the questions that I can answer for today. Check back soon for the BIG launch of Pattyville. It's going to be beautiful and full of the things that I love. I hope that by reading my thoughts and feeling my feelings, you can get to know me. And, as always, feel free to leave a comment.

Daily blogging starting soon.................................
